Maxwell Goss is a litigation and trial attorney focusing on complex intellectual property and business cases. Max represents clients in federal and state courts in Michigan and around the country. He also provides strategic advice on intellectual property and business law matters. Experienced in a broad range of matters, Max’s practices focuses principally on trade secret, trademark, copyright, non-compete, and shareholder litigation.

Max works with businesses of all sizes and with entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, engineers, inventors, creatives, tech professionals, sales professionals, and other individuals. He has represented clients in industries including healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, software development, human resources, automotive, energy, medical device, e-commerce, publishing, insurance, hospitality, food and beverage, construction, retail, financial services, and logistics.

Max is also the host of The Litigation War Room podcast.

Max started his career at the elite law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, where he was trained by one of Texas’s premier business trial lawyers. Max later practiced at a patent litigation boutique and a large regional firm, and was a partner at a prominent IP firm.

Max is licensed in Michigan and Texas and admitted to many federal courts around the country.

​Max was born in Detroit and grew up in the resort town of Charlevoix, Michigan. Before law school, Max earned a doctorate in philosophy and taught logic, ethics, metaphysics, and the history of philosophy at several universities.
