Maxwell Goss represents plaintiffs and defendants in all stages of federal and state court litigation and provides strategic advice on intellectual property and business law matters. Max has represented clients in cases throughout the country. Experienced in a broad range of matters, his practices focuses chiefly on intellectual property, non-compete, and shareholder litigation.
Max works with businesses of all sizes and with entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, engineers, inventors, creatives, tech professionals, sales professionals, and other individuals. He has represented clients in industries including healthcare, software development, human resources, automotive, medical technology, e-commerce, entertainment, insurance, hospitality, food and beverage, manufacturing, construction, retail, financial services, and logistics.
Max started his career at the elite law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP in Texas, where he was trained by one of Texas’s premier business trial lawyers. Max also practiced with a patent litigation boutique in Texas and with a large commercial law firm with offices in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
In 2017, Max launched Maxwell Goss Law, a law firm dedicated to sophisticated counsel, personal attention, and smart strategies tailored to each client’s objectives.
Max has also been admitted pro hac vice to various U.S. District Courts including the District of Delaware, Northern District of California, Central District of California, Southern District of Florida, Northern District of Indiana, District of Maine, Southern District of Ohio, and Eastern District of Virginia, and to the United States Patent and Trial Appeal Board.
Max was born in Detroit and grew up in the resort town of Charlevoix, Michigan. Before law school, Max earned a doctorate in philosophy and taught logic, ethics, metaphysics, and history of philosophy at several universities.
